Following the earthquake that shook Turkey, interest in structural steel structures has increased because they are safer, but structural steel structures in Turkey make up only 1-1.5 percent of the country's housing stock. SUGGESTION FOR SCHOOLS<\/b><\/p>\n
\u015eim\u015fek said, \"For example, we know that 700-800 schools in Istanbul and 700-800 schools outside Istanbul need to be transformed. Even if they only realize the construction method of these schools with this system, an important problem will be eliminated. Public sector support will bring about a change in users, builders and producers. If this is achieved, Turkey will take its place among the leading countries that export construction, not construction materials.\"<\/p>\n
3.8 million houses at risk<\/b><\/p>\n
Melih \u015eim\u015fek said that only 695 thousand houses have been transformed in ISTANBUL so far with the urban transformation method, \"So 16 percent of the pre-2000 buildings were built according to the new regulations. Even if we assume that the structures built after 2000 are earthquake resistant,<\/p>\n
There are still 3 million 800 thousand houses at risk of earthquake in Istanbul. There are 38 million 400 houses in our country. 60-65 percent of the country's population is in the first-degree earthquake zone. Even if we include the houses in this process step by step, we should build schools, hospitals and fire brigades with this system as soon as possible.\"<\/p>\n
