Istanbul can be renewed in 1.5 years
While regulations are being made for urban transformation in Istanbul, which is under earthquake risk, Istanbul needs at least 5-6 years to be prepared for an earthquake.
It is stated that this process can be much shorter with steel construction structures produced in the factory instead of traditional structures.
Melih Şimşek, Founder of Consera, which produces this type of building, said that the 600 thousand buildings that Istanbul needs for transformation can be produced in 1.5 years at 30-40 percent more affordable cost.
Human Influence Should Be Distanced
Şimşek also said that the load-bearing system in construction should be removed from human influence, "In reinforced concrete structures, no matter how high quality the material is, the work of the master in the construction can ensure that the building does not survive in an earthquake. For this reason, at least we make the structural system of the building in a way that is fabricated and has zero human influence."
